Environmental Bit
We have been passionate about nature and sustainability for many years.
We practise what we preach, so we know the ups and downs of ethical living.
On a personal level we buy items that are pre-loved or quality products that last in all aspects of running a household, entertaining children and clothing ourselves.
We support the local council recycling scheme, have our own compost bin and buy organic and locally sourced produce.
Our energy supplier is E.ON who is one of the UK’s leading renewable generation businesses. We don’t claim to be perfect, but we believe we’re moving in the right direction for the future of the planet.
On a business level we work hard to transport as much as possible by sea instead of air, and in packaging we use recycled card and chlorine-free tissue paper. Our stationary is printed on paper from well managed forests, having FSC certification.
We aim to extend our organic range as believe this is both the way forward for the preservation of our beautiful world and best for our precious newborn babies. In the furniture range the wooden components are all hand sanded and hand stained, using a child friendly stain which makes the cribs and change tables 100% safe for your baby. We offer an option of mattresses made only with natural products.
We feel proud to offer this range which is 100% NZ made using solid Southland Beech, Cotton, Wool and Merino Wool.
Our basic belief is that the first step towards reducing negative environmental impact is not to use so much, which is why we think buying well made timeless designs that are hardwearing is a sustainable choice.
